⚓️OWNER'S BOAT

Outside the crab season, the owner himself steers the "Koshinmaru" fishing boat. We serve fish and fresh squid where we know exactly "who, when, and how" they were caught.

🌊DIRECT SEAWATER

We pump seawater directly from the ocean behind the restaurant into our massive tanks. Fish and live squid swim in the "same environment as the sea" until the moment they are cooked.

FAQ

Do I need a reservation?

Walk-in guests are welcome. However, we can be fully booked during Echizen crab season and on weekends, so we recommend reserving if you want to be sure of a table.

When do Echizen crab reservations open?

We start taking Echizen crab reservations on September 1 every year. The crab fishing season opens on November 6, and popular dates—right after the opening and on weekends—fill up first, so please contact us early by phone or via our web form.

When can I eat Echizen crab?

The Echizen crab fishing season opens on November 6 and runs until March 20 of the following year. We start serving crab on November 7 (the season ends at our restaurant once the crabs kept in our live tank are gone). At other times of year, you can enjoy live squid and seasonal fish caught by our own fishing boat, Koshin-maru.

* The opening day of the fishing season may be postponed due to weather. If you plan to visit right after the opening, please call us (+81-778-37-0111) to confirm in advance.

Do you serve a seafood bowl (kaisen-don)?

Yes. We serve a seafood bowl (kaisen-don) topped with seasonal Echizen seafood (2,783 JPY incl. tax). During the Echizen crab off-season (May–September), we mainly serve seafood caught by the owner on his fishing boat, Koshin-maru.

Can I take steamed crab home?

Our signature steamed crab (mushi-gani) is best fresh from the steamer, so it is served for dine-in only. As a souvenir, we offer boiled crab, which stays delicious even when cold, and we can also ship it anywhere in Japan.

Is there parking?

We have parking for 8 cars in front of the restaurant, with additional parking space nearby.

Do you have private rooms or tatami rooms?

Yes, we have private rooms and tatami rooms, suitable for family meals, groups, banquets and memorial gatherings.

Are children welcome?

Children are welcome. (Please note we do not have a children's menu.)

How much does a crab cost?

Echizen crab prices vary with the market, and you choose your own crab from our live tank. At recent market prices, expect roughly 20,000 to 60,000-something JPY per crab. Preparation (steamed, boiled, crab sashimi, etc.) is included in the price of the crab.
